AI
• Unlike what pop culture would have as believe AI is not Hyper-intelligent robots or

BRIEF INTRODUCTION OF AI
entities that is out to destroy humans , AI is a very old concept introduced by Alan
Turing in 1950 which introduced it as machines that could think at the level of
humans.

• Today, AI generally is thought to refer to “machines that respond to stimulation

consistent with traditional responses from humans, given the human capacity for
contemplation, judgment, and intention , or in simple terms Machine that replicate
human behaviour and capabilities

• In 2020 Artificial Intelligence , Machine Learning and Deep Learning are used
interchangeably but there are key differences separating them .
• Artificial intelligence is just any kind of machine that behaves
like human with or without a learning algorithm behind it.

• Machine learning is a subset of artificial intelligence (AI) that

provides systems the ability to automatically learn and improve

from experience without being explicitly programmed for a
specific task. In ML, there are different generalized algorithms
that are fed data to learn and then later deployed solve
problems.

• Deep learning, or deep neural learning, is a subset of machine

learning, which uses deep neural networks to analyze different
factors with a structure that is similar to the human neural
system and specialises in finding patterns in big data

AI
Impact of
Industry 4.0
Industry 4.0 is the name given to the current trend of automation in
data exchange in manufacturing technologies. It is paving the path for
digitization in manufacturing sectors where AI/ML is not only changing
the way we interact with Information and Computers but also
revolutionizing it.

Few Compelling reasons for AI and ML in Industry are:

Optimize Production Cost - Automobile
Minimize human / manual errors - Banking and Regulatory Compliance
Increase Productivity - Agriculture
Predictive Modelling resulting in more Certainty - Asset Management
Revolution in Certain Sectors - Oil and Petroleum
Society 5.0
Packed with best sensors, processing capacity and high speed of flow of
data, machines can interact with each other and with the environment.
By this the future of our Society will be the one in which new values and
services are created continuously making peoples life more comfortable
and sustainable. This has the potential to throw away borders and bring
the entire globe into one zone.

Impacts of AI and ML in Soceity are:

Deliveries are not mattered by Distances
AI Consumer Electronics
AI Speakers
Tele Medicine
Smart Agriculture
Unmanned Mobility

Conclusions
The AI transformation is coming but it needs to be
done strategically in such a way that no body is left
behind this transformation will only be beneficial if
it is beneficial for all of us and not just some of us.

Questions
Having seen the Impact AI is creating and The potential it has.
How do you feel knowing the impact that AI can create in today's world from cases like Cambridge analytica or
how the social media platforms auction you attention.
What do you feel our next step should be as a society.
1. Block the technology
2. Find the middle ground( regulations)
3. Let it go unchained.

AI and machine learning can make privacy obsolete (as seen currently in China) and has th e ability to tweak
human behaviour (as is seen through targeted ads)
How do we cope with this?
1) tweak technology
2) legislate for privacy laws
3) train individuals to use AI based tools for their benefit (eg mood tracking app data which can tell you
when you are more likely to feel depressed)
