Overview
An Oil Refinery is an industrial process plant where crude oil is
transformed of refined into a more useful product.

It is a typically a large industrial complex with many piping and uses


many chemicals and can also be thought of as a type of chemical
plant.

It is also considered as an important part of the downstream part of


the petroleum industry.

Risk
There are a lot of risk in an Oil Refinery Plant, which can harm or even
be lethal to the people in and around the plant.

These are the issue areas:


• Wharves, Loading areas, pipelines
• Hydrocarbon processing areas
• Hydrocarbon storage and tanks
• Non-processing buildings
• Neighbours

• Risk associated with fire protection system
• Wharves, shipping, loading and unloading

• Local Community
