Type Classification
1. General: A series of products that are
transported in small units and is compose of
individual units.

1.1. Loose Cargo: Means that master cartoons are


not palletized, nor containerized. (LCL)

1.2. Palletized Cargo: Is composed of boxes or


packages grouped in units as pallets, containers or
slings. (FCL)

2. Bulk Cargo: Merchandise that are transported
without any packing or packaging. They are
transported in big volumes.

2.1. Solid Bulk: Minerals, Cereals, Chemical products


(Coal, Sugar, Grain)

transported in great volumes.

2.2. Liquid Bulk: Petroleum, Liquors, Liquid gases


(Nitrogen, Oxygen)
Nature Classification
1. Perishable Cargo: Products that suffer a normal
degradation due to its physical, chemical and
biological characteristics.

Examples: Fruits, vegetables, flowers, fresh fishes.

2. Fragile Cargo: Products that require a special
treatment in tis packaging, manipulation and
transportation.

Examples: Bottles of Wine, Glasses, Ceramics,


dishes.

3. Hazardous or dangerous Cargo: Products that can
produce danger to people´s life, due to its nature,
such as radioactive products, toxic products,
explossive products, poisonous products.

4. Oversized Cargo: Extremely big products.
Example: Heavy Machinery, Vehicles, Boats.

5. Special/ Valuable: The valuable cargo refers to those items that by their nature are of a
special value that range from precious metals, elaborate jewelry, works of art to important
documentation such as titles, stocks, even technological articles
