GAS

STOICHIOMETRY
by.: Jo Hans Andrei L. Domingo
What is GAS STOICHIOMETRY?
GAS STOICHIOMETRY:

• is the study of the relative amounts of reactants

and products in reactions that involve gases.
• it also helps us calculate the amount of gas that
are going into the equation or coming out of it
GAS STOICHIOMETRY:

• Avogadro’s value allow us to use the conversion

factor of 22.4 L/mol when reactions take place at
Standard Temperature and Pressure (STP) 273 K
and 1 atm.
At STP(273 K, 1 atm)
1 mol = 22.4 L
GAS STOICHIOMETRY:

• However, when the reaction takes place at

pressure, volume , temperature values that are not
at STP , we must return to Stoichiometry
calculations and the Ideal Gas Law to determine
volume, mole , and gram values.
At STP(273 K, 1 atm)
1 mol = 22.4 L
