MANAGEMENT
COURSE SYNOPSIS
This course is designed to provide the basic knowledge of cross-
cultural management for future international and global
managers and business negotiators. It also serves as a practical
overview of the cross-cultural management challenges and
issues, which students must understand in order to manage
employees in multinational firms. Emphasis will be given on
developing basic soft skills as well as intercultural and cross-
cultural competencies to deal with colleagues, business partners
and customers from different cultures.
COURSE OBJECTIVES
Upon completion of the course, students are expected to
1.Acquire strong understanding, knowledge, and skills in cross-cultural
management.
2.Learn relevant theories underpinning cross-cultural management.
3.Explain global issues and challenges in multinational corporations
when working with people of different cultural backgrounds.
4.Explain the impact of culture on management styles, communication
styles, decision making styles and negotiations styles.
