 What is a Grease Trap Interceptor?
Grease Traps are used to reduce the amount of fats, oils and greases (FOG’s) that enter the main sewers.
Effectively they are boxes within the drain run that flows between the sinks in a kitchen to the foul sewer system.
They only have wastewater flowing through them and are not served by any other drainage system such as toilets .

As the wastewater enters the trap, it slows down the flow of water, when the water slows down, it allows lighter grease, fats and oils
to separate and float from the water, whilst solid particles settle to the bottom of the filter basket. As the wastewater drains, it is drawn
through the filter basket, which helps to reduce any turbulence and filters out even more solid waste material. The wastewater is then
drawn up through the integrated air trap into the main drainage system.

Grease Trap Interceptors can be made from a number of different materials although the ones made up of stainless steels are usually
best. The size of trap will depend on the volume of water going through your drains and the amount of fat, oil, grease and solid matter
usually put into the sink.
