• Training
• Training is a learning process in which employees get an
opportunity to develop skill, competency and knowledge as
per the job requirement.
• Formal learning to achieve the level of skills, knowledge and
competence to carry out the current role.

Development
• An educational process which is concerned with the overall
growth of the employees. To improve the work
performances of the employees.
• It is more individually oriented than training.

development process

Stage1: Identify training and development needs

Stage2: Set training objectives:

Stage3: Plan the training

Kirkpatrick Evaluation of training.


• According to kirkpatrick there are four levels at
which training can be evaluated

1. Reaction – did the participant like the training


2. Learning – did the participants learn the principle facts
and theories
3. Behavior / impact – did behavior change as a result of
training
4. Results – what benefits (e.g. reduced cost, better
quality, project handling, fast work (tech))
