ARTS FESTIVAL

THEME
◦ Artsy, colorful, very extra festive theme
◦ Dress code: participants are encouraged to wear traditional, colorful outfits that represent various cultures, such as Sindhi
Ajrak or Pathani Outfit.
◦ For Hosts its mandatory to wear and promote cultural outlook.
◦ The tenting would be neutral so the rest of the theme and decorations pop more.
◦ Banners with graffiti art or calligraphy would be crafted by our creative society members/students. And will be put up during
the festival.
◦ A welcome banner inside and a poster should be placed outside that guides the participants right in.
◦ Music would include all kinds of classical, folk music, that invokes Pakistani culture and Sufism.
EVENT OVERVIEW
◦ Since it’s an Art Festival/Carnival it will comprise of all sorts of stalls, from food stalls/vendors to craft stalls etc.
◦ PER PERSON, ticket charges would/ be Rs.!200 which would include all charges for within the carnival activities, multiple
entries and charges for Social Night as well.
◦ The event would compromise of 800-1000 people, depending on how many tickets are sold, but arrangements will be made to
fit the maximum gentry.
◦ Events will be held respectively on Saturday and Sunday to cater the maximum number of people on a weekend.
◦ It will be a 2 day event, social night will be held at the end of Day 2
DAYS BREAKDOWN:
* DAY 1: On day one, Welcoming Day, where we welcome our fellow participants into our Arts Festival. Participants will
be given a list of things they can enjoy while at the festival, including a map that guides them to every corner and back,
so they can choose accordingly what stall, or activity would they want to do first, and would act as a guide map too.

* DAY 2: On day two, participants won’t be given any sort of guides whatsoever, but they’d have to show their passes
and enter, and the rest all is pretty much the same as Day 1, where they’d enjoy all different stalls, eat from various food
joints and much more.
Participants would have a Social Event to attend the same day, but after 8 pm onwards, until 10 pm.
Social Event includes, a Mushahira Night, where poetry from various Pakistani cultures will be read and performed,
since its an Art Festival and not to forget traditional too, we’d represent the rich and diverse cultures we have, and the
creativity it possesses, followed by a grand performance by the Shahirs.
Dress code for socials: desi formal wear.
ACTIVITIES:
◦ Various food stalls will be set up including both local vendors as well as brands such as Chotu Chai Wala and Broadway Pizza,
Lush Crush etc
◦ Local food stalls would include items such as Pani Poori, Kashmiri Chai, Chapli Kabab etc
◦ Apart from food stalls, we’d also have Art Stalls, where people can exhibit their Art work and creativity and also put it up for
sale as preferred. There can be individual stalls that represent all major cultures of Pakistan, Sindhi Culture Stall, Punjabi
Culture Stall, each stall selling souvenirs and arts/crafts of their culture
◦ Other stalls may also include, Artists from different parts of Karachi, who are willing to showcase their live art skills,
participants can also have their personal portraits made if they please, but for additional charges of course. A picture stall where
you can have your picture taken within the Instagram template with #IOBMArtFestival.
◦ Festival would also include thrill rides, such as a mini ferris wheel and a Viking ship that never goes out of style for most people.
Participants can ride 3 times each, given that all charges are inclusive in the ticket.
◦ After 2 days of festival activities, there will be a Mushahira Night, participants would arrive at the venue by 8 pm and event is
most likely to end by 10 pm.
