Percentiles: are the values of arranged data which divide whole data
into hundred equal parts.

Ungrouped data: An ungrouped set of data is basically a list of numbers.

The data is raw, it's not sorted into categories,
classified, or otherwise grouped.

For example : The following allowances per week of BSA2A

800, 1200, 1000, 1000, 1000, 1000, 1000,

1500, 1100, 1,000, 1,000, 1,000, 1800, 1300,
1000, 1000, 1,000, 1,500, 1,000, 800, 700,
600, 1000, 1000, 900, 1000, 1000, 800,
1000, 800
Formula for ungrouped data:

First step: Arrange the data in ascending order

800, 1200, 1000, 1000, 1000, 1000, 1000, 1500, 1100,

1,000, 1,000, 1,000, 1800, 1300, 1000, 1000, 1,000,
1,500, 1,000, 800, 700, 600, 1000, 1000, 900,
1000, 1000, 800, 1000, 800

600, 700, 800, 800, 800, 800, 900, 1000, 1000,

1000, 1000, 1000, 1000, 1000, 1000, 1000, 1000,
1000, 1000, 1000, 1000, 1000, 1000, 1000, 1100,
1200, 1300, 1500, 1500, 1800
Example: Find the

=
( 14th percentile)

• =
Therefore the 14th
percentile is 5th observation
• = 4.2 ≈ 5 which is 800, means that 14
percent of the observations
in data are less than 800

600, 700, 800, 800, 800, 800, 900, 1000, 1000,

1000, 1000, 1000, 1000, 1000, 1000, 1000, 1000,
1000, 1000, 1000, 1000, 1000, 1000, 1000, 1100,
1200, 1300, 1500, 1500, 1800

Grouped data: Grouped data is data that has been bundled together in
categories.  Frequency table can be used to show this type
of data:

For example : Allowances per week of BSA2A
