The document discusses reasons for low wheat productivity in Nepal. Key reasons include improper use of fertilizers without nutrient management, lack of appropriate technologies and trained personnel, reliance on traditional farming practices, insufficient marketing and trade, high input costs with low outputs, and natural hazards affecting production. Additional factors are inadequate post-harvest handling, lack of disease-resistant varieties suited to local conditions, insufficient research into variety-specific issues, and lack of dedicated package of practices. Increasing wheat productivity in Nepal will require concerted efforts between authorities and farmers to address these challenges through sustainable production methods.
