 Work that prevents kids

such as unlimited or

work.

for kids and that is

physical, mental or
emotional health.

Statistics On Child Labor
 64 million child laborers in the age group of a
5-14 are in India.
 In India ,every fourth child in the age group of
5-15 is employed.
 over 20% of the country’s GNP is contributed
by child labor .
 A quarter of the world’s total number of child
laborers are in India
10 million bonded child laborers working
as house servants in India.
Over 85% of this child labor is in the
country's rural areas.
5,00,000 children are forced into this trade
every year.

 The Child Labor(prohibition & Regulation)act (1986).

These all Acts prohibits the employment of a child who


has not completed 14 years.

 The Mines Act, 1952:

The Act prohibits the employment of a child below 18


years of age for work below ground
Ilo`s International Program For The
Elimination Of Child Labor (IPEC)

 ILO constitute NGOs to design , implement


and evaluate programs for child labor.
 Creation of awareness and social mobilization
for securing elimination of child labor.
 ILO gave $4.15 million for IPEC programs in
India .

 Support organizations that are raising awareness
 Provide direct help to individual children.
What Are Some Solutions To Child
Labor?
 Increase family income.
 Education- that helps children learn
skills that will help them earn a living.
 Social services- that help children and
families survive crises, such as disease or
loss of home and shelter.
 Family control of fertility- so that
families are not burdened by children.
