 ElectroTech engineers ltd is located at

plot no 144 Sector – A, Industrial area
Mandideep Bhopal.

 It generally engaged in the production

of ‘Transformers and Frames’.

 supply Transformers to BHEL and

CROMPTON GREAVES.

 work according to the requirement of

their customers.
PRODUCT AND VOLUME:

 Electro Tech Engineers ltd produces ‘Transformers and

Frames’ which they supply to organizations in Bhopal
like BHEL and CROMPTON GREAVES.

 Product volume depends upon the order which they get

from their customers.

 There is no standard or specific volume set for the

production but it totally dependent on the orders.
CAPACITY AND CAPACITY UTILIZATION:

 As ElectroTech Engineers
ltd works according to the
orders of their customers,
only 50% of their total
capacity is generally
utilized.

 And when the orders face

fluctuations this figure
could vary again.

 It follows Process layouts –

together. It has separate departments where general-purpose
machines are grouped together by function (e.g., grinding,
drilling, oiling, winding, etc)

LOCATIONAL ISSUES:
 When ElectroTech Engineers ltd was established at
Mandideep, Government had provided the subsidies on
land.

 There is also easy availability of labor.

 labors are available at cheaper cost.

 Easy availability of high voltage electricity

 Another important aspect related to location is the Land

and building availability.
MATERIAL HANDLING EQUIPMENTS:

 ElectroTech Engineers ltd is a small manufacturing unit so

they have only 1 crane as a material handling equipment.

 Some other materials include:

 Core (steel, laminated, etc.)
 Windings
 Tapping and tap switch
 Coolant
 Insulation drying
 Terminals
 Fitting accessories
 Transformer tanks
PRODUCTION PLANNING AND CONTROL:

 plans the production according to the requirement of

their customers and performs the job work.

 plans the production after receiving the guidelines of

their customers.

 guidelines related to designs, quality, and quality of

material, size of material and also give the time limit.

 According to the requirement of their customers, arrange

the required raw material & start the production.

 Specialized engineers check the quality at each step.

QUALITY RELATED ISSUES:

 performs the job as their customers provide step by step

guidelines related to quality control.

 quality control department which consists of a team of

specialized engineer who check the production in
various steps likes marking, fabrication, welding etc.

 their scrap is lies between 0-10 percent.

 The quality of the transformer is assured by well defined

Quality Policy and procedures in conformance to the
ISO-9001:2000 standard. The company acquired the ISO:
2000 Quality System Certificate.
 Quality Assurance Plan is guided by the urge to provide
uncompromising quality to their valued customers to
ensure lasting satisfaction.

 Each transformer undergoes a prescribed range of the tests

as per IS: 2026 & IS: 1180, BS and DIN.

 In addition, supplementary tests are carried out as part of

an internal sampling procedure to ensure continuous
quality monitoring.

2 - Measurement of Voltage Ratio and Check of Voltage Vector Relationship

3 - Separate Source Voltage Withstand Test

4 - Induced Over-voltage Withstand Test

5 - Measurement of No Load Loss and Current

6 - Measurement of Impedance Voltage/Short Circuit Impedance and Load Loss

7 - Measurement of Winding Resistance

8 - Unbalance Current

9 - Oil Dielectric Test

10 - Temperature Rise Test

11 - Air Pressure Test

12 - Vacuum Test

13 - Oil Leakage Test

MATERIAL PLANNING AND STORES:

 ElectroTech Engineers ltd generally keeps 75 percent

stock of raw material.

 If a customer requires any specialized material then they

order the remaining raw material from their suppliers
which supplies raw material within a week.
MAINTENANCE PLANNING AND SAFETY
RELATED ISSUES:

 maintenance and safety related issues are seen by

quality control department.

 The engineers check the machines on routine basis.

 A factory in- charge is also appointed whose basic job is

to check out the machines on routine basis and also
check out the safety of workers, machines and other
assets of the company.
