• 10 minutes

Restrictions / specific requirement

Idea & what I’m
producing
• Supernatural-drama
• The overwhelming feeling of longing for a partner after they
have died and the grief, they go through
• Flashbacks to create emotion & to allow the audience to get
to know the characters and their past and understand their
bond
• Sheet ghosts
Social Context &
implications
• Includes suicide- could be seen as promotion –
needs trigger warning
• Includes negative actions/coping
mechanisms/thoughts
• Includes pills- I am going to imply the suicide

• In lockdown people are in need of art- my piece

might be too sad, however, it is something they
have submerge themselves for 10 minutes- it can
allow them to forget about the world
Topic Research
• YouTube videos on grief, peoples’
experiences, TedTalks
• Grief research
 5 stages of grief, depression, physical
and emotional effects of grief

• Films regarding loss and flashbacks

• Films about ghosts
• Codes and conventions of supernatural
films
 Night-time, eerie music, piano/organ
music
Target audience
• Gen Z

• The older you get, the more likely you are to experience grief and the loss of a
partner

• Gen Z are a group of individuals that I can relate to, and everyone has experienced
some kind of grief – whether this is of a friendship, a holiday location

• Older audience highly unlikely to watch a short film

• Characters can relate to my audience

• In my secondary research, I found that Gen Z are less likely to have a strong
relationship with their parents

• More open minded than other generations

 Ghosts aren’t something we encounter on the daily and not a lot of people have
gone through grief
• Using camcorder
