I. CASE BRIEF

 Businesses in the Philippines are exposed to high crime risks, which are
exacerbated by the presence of terrorists and organized crime groups that
perpetuate violence including murder, kidnapping and armed robbery in the
country.

 The country’s high level of unemployment and poverty drive economically


motivated crimes such as theft and burglary, which raises security and
insurance cost for businesses.
 Violent crime such as assault and murder are also widespread, while
foreigners are explicitly targeted for kidnapping with extortion demands.
 In addition, the governments vigorous crackdown against illegal drugs has
caught innocent people up in the crossfire, including visitors and has led to
extrajudicial death perpetuated by vigilante groups.
 As a result, Philippines receives a low score for its violent and petty crime
risk.

IV. OBJECTIVES OF THE ANALYSIS

To enhance intelligence gathering


capability of law enforcement agency;
To strengthen boarder security to
prevent entry of terrorist groups;
To enhance police visibility; and
To recruit more police personnel.
V. FACTORS AFFECTING THE ORGANIZATION BEING
ANALYZE

 Lack of training for PNP personnel;


 Lack of PNP personnel; and
 Corruption in the PNP.
VI. ALTERNATIVE COURSE OF ACTION

ACA1 - To hire more PNP personnel;


ACA2 - To provide more proper trainings
to PNP personnel; and
ACA3 - Internal Cleansing in the PNP.
ADVANTAGES

ACA1 - The more police to be hired, the more police


visibility, the less crime to be happen;

ACA2 - More proper trainings would help our police to


handle crimes properly; and

ACA3 - To eliminate corrupt officials/personnel in the


PNP.
DISADVANTAGES

ACA1 - There is a possibility to hire a


delinquent personnel
ACA2 - It would lessen the personnel
available in the field
ACA3 - It would lessen police personnel
VII. RECOMMENDATION

Recruit more personnel that would undergo


thorough trainings to make sure that the
succeeding personnel will handle different
crime appropriately.
An internal cleansing in the PNP and more
proper trainings for those already in the
service.
