In psychology stated that stress is a feeling of strain and pr


essure. Small amounts of stress may be desired, beneficial,
and even healthy. Positive stress helps improve athletic per
formance. It also plays a factor in motivation, adaptation, a
nd reaction to the environment. Excessive amounts of stres
s, however, may lead to bodily harm. Stress can increase th
e risk of strokes, heart attacks, ulcers, dwarfism, and menta
l illnesses such as depression
• Stress can be external and related to the environment,
but may also be created by internal perceptions that
cause an individual to experience anxiety or other
negative emotions surrounding a situation, such as
pressure, discomfort which they then deem stressful
• A stressor is any event, experience, or environmental
stimulus that causes stress in an individual. These
events or experiences are perceived as threats or
challenges to the individual and can be either physical or
psychological

with drug and alcohol abuse, domistic
violence, cause of children and elderly
relatives, chronic mental illness, injury,
physical handicaps, even moving to a new
home. If you've lived in the same place for
more than 10 years and managing your
personal finances can be another stressful
exprience.
