What is a Stakeholder in Education?
 The definition of concerned parties in
education refers to any party having an
interest, implementing advanced ideas, or
investing in education's successful
development.
In education, the
term stakeholder typically
refers to anyone who is
invested in the welfare and
success of a school and its
students.
IN GENERAL, STAKEHOLDERS IN EDUCATION
CAN BE DIVIDED INTO TWO MAJOR GROUPS:

Overview
Students

Students' role in education is crucial. For a

particular curriculum design, the learner is
placed at the center. The learners are the very
reason a curriculum is developed. They are
the ones who are directly influenced by it.
Learners in all levels make or unmake the
curriculum by their active and direct
involvement.
The productive involvement of students
in curriculum implementation can lead
to greater student interest in and
satisfaction with learning. The
dominant view in education today is
that students are disruptive agents in the
learning process, liable to interrupt
teaching for their own purposes.

Teachers become
architects of school
curriculum.
Teachers
as Curriculum Developer and Implementers

 They can determine the success of a

curriculum
 They create curriculum through lesson
plans, unit plans, or yearly plans.
 They have very crucial role in the
process
 Unsuccessful implementation can lead
to educational failure.
SCHOOLBOARD
Who are the schoolboard?

The local school board is a critical

public link to public schools. School
board members serve their
communities in several important ways.

The most important responsibility of

school boards is to work with their
communities to improve
student achievement in their local public
schools.
 Ensure that students get their
pedagogical needs

 Also secures the well-being of

teachers and staffs
o ard
o o lB  They serve as a linkage with

Sch different local authorities

 The curriculum managers and

school administrators

 In charge for the final decision

making in terms of the school’s
purpose.

DIFFERENT
PROFESSIONALS
02

03 There are other important stakeholders

in curriculum implementation.
Professional organizations have shown
great influence in school curriculum.
DIFFERENT
PROFESSIONALS
• Professional Organizations and Individuals
• Teachers’ organization, medical doctors’
association, engineers’ organization, lawyer’s
organization (source)

COMMUNITY Charllote

Community is not a place, a
building, or an organization;
03
nor is it an exchange of
information over the Internet.
Community is both a feeling
and a set of relationships
among people. People form
and maintain communities to
meet common needs.

Process of Engagement
Stakeholder engagement does not
mean that they will make group
decisions. Their role is to make sure
that their ideas, suggestions, and
interests are well-heard and taken into
account throughout a more transparent
decision-making process.
Basically, there are four steps performed throughout the engagement process:
