What are
Interpersonal
Skills?

Interpersonal skills are a type of management skills that


are extremely essential in order to interact, communicate,
function and work with other individuals.

Everything that comes under interpersonal skills can be


considered as a management skill separately, or can be
grouped under interpersonal skills.

Communication Skills:

Communication skills involve listening, speaking


and observing.

While establishing communication with someone, we need


to make sure to try and connect with them, instead of
making idle talk. This way, the relationship between the
individuals proves to be more meaningful.
Team Player:

Team players know that their


team’s success is their
success. They do not
dominate over the other
team members and when
their team experiences
difficulties along the way,
they share the responsibility.

They show incredible


commitment to their team
and team members.
Diplomacy:

Diplomacy is the quality of


being sensitive in dealing
with others and achieving
peaceful resolutions or
facilitating discussions.

A person who doesn't take


sides in a conflict and knows
how to manage it is said to
be diplomatic.
Flexibility:

Always being rigid about your


decisions can prove to be
detrimental. Instead, providing
room for change can help
quell any problem that would
arise.

An added benefit would be


to prevent any
discrepancies.
Empathy:

It is what helps us
understand how others are
feeling so we can respond
appropriately to the
situation.

It helps forge better


connections with
individuals.

Interpersonal communication skills and the ability to understand


others to come to the best solution or make the best decision for
everyone involved is one of the best things a person in a managing
position can do. So, it is essential to have good interpersonal skills to
be successful in life.
