TIHAR
 Tihar is the festivals of light.
 We celebrate Tihar for 5 days.
 People put various light to decorate their house.
 People play Deusi-Bhailo during Tihar.
First day : Kaag (Crow) Tihar
Crows are worshiped and fed early in the morning on this day.
Crow is considered to be the messenger of death.
People leave different food items on the roof of their houses for crows to eat.
Second Day: Kukur (Dog) Tihar
At Second day, dog is worshipped as dog is most loyal friend to humans.
Puja is done by putting a red tika on dog’s forehead and flower garland around the neck.
We offer him foods and sel roti.
Third day – Gai (Cow) Puja and Laxmi Puja
Cows are worshipped in the morning on third day.
Cow is regarded as our mother and as Goddess Laxmi, the goddess of wealth.
People clean their houses and all family members gather together to worship
goddess Laxmi at night.
Fourth Day: Oxen/Goverdhan/Mha puja
Oxen is worshipped on this day by thanking him for his hard work on the field.
We also perform Govardhan puja by making a hill of Govardhan parbat using Cow dung.
Newari people celebrate Mha Puja also known as self-puja.
Fifth Day: Bhai tika
This Day is very important for brothers and sister.
 In this day sisters put Sapta Rangi Tika on forehead of their brothers.
Brother and Sister exchange gifts on this day.
