Introduction

After all the preparations God did in Moses life; the burning bush, the
plagues brought upon the Egyptians, the crossing of the red sea,
Moses' relationship with God grew through his regular calling to God
and speaking with God.
Moses- seeker of God

Exodus 17:8-16 brings out one of the instances that shows Moses had
faith in God. They are in the wilderness a place called Rephidim when
Amalek one of the inhabitants of the land attacked them. Moses
knowing what to do and had the resources necessary decides to divide
work among them; Joshua to choose men and lead them to fight with
Amalek while Moses to stand on the hill with the staff of God in his
hand. Moses thus prayed to God raising his hands towards heaven with
the staff of God.
Thus it came to pass that Israel won its first victory in battle. Another step was
taken towards the fulfillment of the promise to Abraham to make of him a great
nation and also towards the gradual transference of the national faith from a
passive reliance on Divine interposition to an abiding confidence in Divine help.

After God declaration that he won't go with them but will send an angel, Moses
decides to intercede because he knew they can't do without God. Moses
intercession in Exodus 33:11-19 shows some depth in his relationship with God
and the people he was leading. Let's see some characteristics in his petition:
1. There is boldness to Moses petition.
2. Moses petition is based on God's word.
3. The foundation for Moses' petition and for his boldness was his privileged
status with God.

4. Moses petition had both it's foundation and it's goal, God's favour

5. Moses petition was in two- forms: first that God would make His ways known to
Moses and second that God would view Israel as His own people. The first request
was more personal and the second more public in nature.

6. Moses petition shows dependency on God. He acknowledges that he can't do

without God.

7. God reminds Moses of His sovereignty.

Choices made through Faith
1. Worldly prestige vs 24.
2. Pleasure of sin vs 25.
3. Worldly treasure Vs 26.
4. Pressure Vs 27.

Conclusion
1.We should cultivate an intimate relationship with God through prayer and strengthening our
faith in him.

2. We should be ready to bear reproach for Christ's sake

3. We should aim at the eternal reward and not the treasures of the world.
