SHAPES

A shape is created when a line is


enclosed. It is one of the elements
of art and has different uses in
creating art.
CIRCLE
A circle is a round and no sides. You
can find in many things like clock,
coins, and the moon when it is full.
SQUARE
A square have four sides. You can find
in many things like side of a box, a
picture frame, piece of tile.
RECTANGLE
A rectangle have 4 sides like the square. Two sides
are longer than two sides. You can find in many
places like in the door are, rug, ladders, flags and
envelope.
TRIANGLE
A triangle have 3 sides. You can find in many
things like slice of pizza, roof of the house
and a protractor.
STAR
A star have 10 sides. You can
find billions star in the sky.
OVAL
Oval have no sides nor no end. It is a long
circle. Oval can find in a candy and egg.
HEART
Heart is the sign of love. You can also
find in many things and in Valentine’s
Day.

A landscape is a picture representing a natural scene.
When you make a landscape, what you nearest to you is
the foreground. The objects here are big. The objects
behind the foreground are in the middleground.
The objects in the middle ground are smaller that those in
the foreground. Objects farthest away from you are in the
background and they are smallest of the three. The size of
the objects in your drawing vary according to the distance
from you.
Balance is an organizing principle is visual arts
which uses objects of relative sizes situated in
relation to one another to achieve a feeling of
equality.

Things have different textures that
can be felt by touching or by looking
at the surface.

art. We associate textures with the way that things
look or feel. Everything has some type of texture.
We describe things as being rough and smooth.
Things we see or touch have texture.
Some are hard and rough, others are
soft and smooth.
Two Kinds of Texture
Visual Texture
It refers to the feel of a surface just by looking
at reproductions. The surfaces of objects in
photographs or paintings have visual texture.
Example
Tactile Texture
It is the surface quality of objects when actually
touched like when holding a fruit, a piece of sand
paper, a bark of a tree, or a flower vase.
Example
In drawing composition, texture is created by
using different lines, A rough or rugged texture
can be achieved through the use of broken
jogged, darting lines.
Identify the texture if it is rough or smooth.
