Factors that Affect


Students’ Performance in
Physical Education using
Distant Learning Modality
STATEMENT OF THE PROBLEM
This study aims to determine the factors that affects students’ performance in Physical
Education using the distant mode of learning.
Specifically the study will answer the following questions;

1. What are the profile respondents in terms of the following:


1.1 Age
1.2 Sex
1.3. Section

2. What are the different factors that affect students’ academic performance under the Distant
Learning Modality?

3. Is there a significant difference between the academic performance of the students based on the
aforementioned variables?

SCOPE AND LIMITATIONS
THE PARTICIPANTS ARE:
• Two sections of Grade 12 STEM students from Liceo De La Salle Senior High
School
• STEM 12 section L (N?)
• STEM 12 section R (N?)

TOOLS:
• This research will be conducted via survey through an online platform using
Google Forms.

RESEARCH
METHODOLOGY
RESEARCH DESIGN
Research design are plans and the procedures for research to detailed methods of data collection and
analysis (Cresswell, 2009). The research design to be used in this study was a Quantitative Descriptive
Survey method. . Quantitative research design is explaining phenomena by collecting numerical data that
are analyzed using mathematically based methods in particular statistics. The survey method will be done
in order to find out the factors that affects students performance in Physical Education using distant mode
of learning.

PARTICIPANTS OF THE STUDY


The researchers selected the Students of Liceo De La Salle Senior High School from the section of STEM
12-L and STEM12-R 2nd Semester School Year 2020-2021. The researchers chose these two sections for
the reason that they are the one who experience Distant Learning Modality (Online Class) in Physical
Education Students.
RESEARCH INSTRUMENTS
In this study, the researchers will use a self-made Survey Questionnaire. The said questionnaire is consists
of (3) three parts: First part, is the profile of the Students which includes their name, age, sex, and section
of the respondents. The second part is the single select multiple choice question consist of five questions.
In the third part, the checklist question, where there are five questions. The researchers will utilized a
Likert Scale in scaling the factors, ranging from 1 to 5.

VALIDITY OF THE INSTRUMENT


In this quantitative research study, the researchers will implement the well-conducted quality of research
studies with its findings and able to critique researchers work to enhance the quality of this study
achieving this through measurement of the validity and reliability of the study. In order to give out the
Survey Questionnaire to the respondents, the researcher-made questionnaire will be validated by the (3)
three Physical Education Experts with the use of Good and Scates evaluation form.
RELIABILITY OF THE INSTRUMENTS
To measure the reliability of this study, consistency is needed so that this will provide evidence
of how the research instruments will be going on, when it will be conducted to the respondents.

DATA GATHERING PROCEDURE

• CHECK, TALLY, INTERPRET, AND ANALYZE THE DATA
DATA ANALYSIS

The comparative analysis will be done using Kruskall-Wallis.

ETHICAL CONSIDERATION
The collected data that had been counted, tallied, and calculated by the researchers will be
kept in order to ensure that all of the data are treated with appropriate confidentiality and
secrecy. The researchers will guarantee that the participants are well protected from
discomfort, personal or psychological embarrassment, or others harm. Through these, the
respondents were much more guaranteed that this study cause no damage with in them.
