Explain in 6-10 sentences
the nature, process and
function of communication
based on your illustration
in the previous activity.
(5 minutes)
As seen in the illustration,
communication began when
the school principal, the sender,
generated and encoded an idea
and converted it into words or
actions by making an
announcement.
The message which was
having an earthquake drill
the next morning was sent
through a particular channel
which was the use of a
megaphone.
The students who are the
receiver, got the message.
While decoding, they
interpreted the message
as important.
Their response or feedback
was sent to the original
source of communication or
the sender.
The function of communication in
this scenario is information
dissemination because the
principal’s primary goal is to
share important announcement
to everyone.
The 3 natures of communication were also
shown in the communication scenarios. It
showed that communication is indeed a
step by step activity. It involves two or
more people and both verbal and
nonverbal actions were used to express
communication.
