HEALTH AND WELLNESS MEASURES AMONG TEACHERS

AND PUPILS TO ENSURE LEARNING CONTINUITY


INTRODUCTION
▪ For months now, our united efforts against the COVID-19 pandemic are producing
promising results in defeating the unseen threat. Still, our country and the world at
large are facing new challenges brought about by this unforeseen public health
crisis.As we continue to confront the issues brought about by the pandemic, we in
the Department of Education (DepEd) are addressing challenges in the basic
education through the Learning Continuity Plan (LCP), which will be in effect by the
time School Year 2020-2021 opens on August 24, 2020.
▪ The LCP is our major response and our commitment in ensuring the health, safety,
and well-being of our learners, teachers, and personnel in the time of COVID-19
while finding ways for education to continue amidst the crisis for the upcoming
school year.
WHAT IS WELL-BEING?
WELL BEING MEANS FEELING GOOD & STRONG IN MIND AND BODY, HAVING ENERGY, GETTING
ALONG WITH & HELPING OTHERS, KNOWING OUR STRENGTHS AND FEELING CONTENT BECAUSE
WE ARE DOING OUR BEST.
IT MEANS WE CAN COPE WITH LITTLE PROBLEMS AND DISAPPOINTMENTS. IT MEANS ENJOYING
LIFE, BEING GRATEFUL FOR WHAT WE HAVE AND ACCEPTING OURSELVES JUST AS WE ARE.

World-wide, education and health are inextricably linked. In THE
simplest terms:

 healthy young people are more likely to learn more effectively;

educational attainment and meet their social aims; young people
that attend school have a better chance of good health; SCHOOLS
 young people who feel good about their school and who are

connected to significant adults are less likely to undertake high T?
risk behaviours and are likely to have better learning outcomes;

 schools are also worksites for the staff and are settings that can
practice and model effective worksite health promotion for the
benefit of all staff and ultimately the students.
