 Dear Future Self...
I'm 18 years old and am writing this letter to you in May 2021 as a requirement for
my English class this semester at Independence High School in Brambleton, VA. I am a senior
and am busy with finishing quarter four assignments, preparing for college, and my last track
season. My favorite classes are shop and AP Stats. My extracurricular activities include cross
country and track. Next year I hope to become the most swag.

The thing I will remember most about my first semester at Independence is realizing
just how rad the staff is. The person I will not forget from my first few months at Independence
is Coach Schuster because of his extensive bird knowledge. I also will never forget about the
Indy talent show.

The thing I will remember most about my last semester at Independence is not
having an actual senior year. The person I will not forget from my last few months at
Independence is still Coach Schuster because of how elite of an individual he is. I also will never
forget about the amount of tech issues that occur during classes despite it being an entire year
online.

The thing I was happiest about was finally graduating because I am tired.

 In 2021 the cost of gas was $2.99. The cost of my favorite meal at Chick-Fil-
A was $6.79. My favorite album that came out in 2020 – 2021 was Circles by Mac
Miller. My favorite actor/actress is Sam Rockwell because literally all his movies are
bangers. My favorite movie that came out in 2020 – 2021 is Tenet. Other popular
movies that came out around this time were: Trial of Chicago 7, Sonic the Hedgehog,
and Trolls World Tour. The term or “it” phrase that my friends and I used the most
was “Sheesh”. Among my friends, I’m known as Aidan because that is my name.

In 2021, the style for teenagers could be said to have been whatever they wanted
to wear. It was common to see pajama pants, expensive designer shirts, and varying
hoodies when walking down the halls at school. I usually get to school by logging in
on my computer. After school, I have practice, homework, and then I game. For fun,
I like to hang out with friends. My hobbies are hiking, snowboarding, and RipStiking.

I have pets—a dog named Stella that I got when I was 9, a dog named Bubbles. The latest
technology this year is the 5G network; the gadget that I cannot live without is my phone. My
favorite vacation was to Colorado with my Dad earlier this year.

A few major events that happened this year include: Getting into CU Boulder and graduating.

My goal for the future is to graduate with a degree in engineering. My hope for the
future is that I am alive. I always want to remember my favorite restaurants.

My advice for my future self is to stay swag and never forget to laugh. These are my dreams and
hope for you and the future!
