 Single-parent , the children, and their experience.

Research Title
A STUDY ON THE CHALLENGES FACED BY SINGLE-
PARENT HOUSEHOLDS WITH RELATION TO TODAY'S
GENERATION"
Background of the study
 Family is basic component of the society, specially in the
Philippines. It should be composed of a mother, father, and
children (if they choose to raise).

 The number of marriage failure is rapidly increasing.


Some spouse either re-marry or remain single and carry-out
the responsibilities of a single parent.

 Nowadays, we’re facing to the new the millennium.


A new challenge that society must be focus on.
The increasing number of solo parent due to marriage failure.
Background of the study
 Solo-parenting can be tough for both the parent and child.
They are the fronting different problems such as financial,
emotional, social, psychological and personal well-being.

 Living in broken household, may affect the aspect of both the parent
and child, including; their lifestyle, emotional wellbeing, and proper
guidance. Broken home is generally associated with increased stress
and emotional difficulties, several problem arise in later stage of life.

 It is important to state here that not all of the children who experienced
broken family had a problem growing up. This also state that those
children who have grew up in complete family are having perfect life.
The emphasis here is to let those current and future parents to put
interest and feeling of their child before anything else.
Research question
 What is the demographic profile of single parents in terms of:
• Age
• Sex
• Educational attainment

 What are the challenges faced by the single-parent households?

 What are the contributions of the parents born between the year
1980 up to the present in shaping the minds of today’s generation?

 Is there a significance between the challenges faced by single-


parent households with relation to today’s generation?
Research Objective
 I. To examine the experience and outcome of children
who grew up with single-parent household.

 II. To examine the struggle of parent who single handle


the responsibility of raising their children.

 III. To assess the both parent relationship with their


children.

 IV. To observe appropriate way of helping both children


and the parent.
Scope and the Limitation
 This study focuses on the on the challenges
faced by single-parent households with relation
to today’s generation. The data collection will
be conducted to the 5% population of in Brgy.
Malinta, Los Banos, Calamba City, Laguna,
who will represent the population. This study
will not cover other problems that are not
consider as one of the stress and depression.
Scope and the Limitation
 Thosepeople who have their own family
nor a single-parent are not within the
scope of this research. The study would be
done through the utilization of questionnaire to
the single-parents as a survey and reference.
By their strategy of the researchers will be able
to know the challenges faced by single of
parent’s of today’s generation.
Significance of the study
The study would given an in-depth analysis on the challenges faced by single
parent households with relation to todays generation

 Single parents - the research will help the single parents on how they can
handle their children in todays generation by being aware of the generation
z behavior.

 Generation Z- the research will help the generation z for them to reflect on
how they will behave on their single parents
Significance of the study
 Psychology student- this research may help to the psychology student for
them to easily get an idea or resources about this research.

 Future researcher- in this research it can help them to easily get a


reference for their future research
