ARCHITECTURAL LIGHTING

LIGHTING
Lighting is a form of energy without
which there can be no vision. When
light strikes an object, it may be
reflected, absorbed or allowed to pass
through.
Luminous flux is the measure of brightness of a light source in
terms of energy being emitted. Luminous flux, in SI units, is
measured in the lumen (lm). It is a measurement of energy
released in the form of visible light from a light-producing source.
Luminous flux is often a criteria of light bulb comparison. Luminous
flux is also known as luminous power.
 Luminance is the way in which a surface emits or reflects light in a given
direction. It is equal to the luminous intensity measured in a given direction
divided by the area of this surface projected on a perpendicular to the
direction considered.

 Illuminance is the total luminous flux incident on a surface, per unit area. It is
a measure of how much the incident light illuminates the surface
