Tourism Management
System
ABSTRACT :
The importance of information and efficient information management is steadily
increasing due to the evolution of new technologies and high-capacity storage media but
also because growing market dynamics raise information needs. A marketing decision
support system (MDSS) can be of particular importance as it supports organizations in
collecting, storing, processing, and disseminating information, and in the decision-
making process by providing forecasts and decision models (Little 1979). The
following article provides insights into a successful implementation of a MDSS in
tourism. Based on findings on the analysis of the system’s protocol files, it discusses the
information needs in tourism management.
INTRODUCTION :
This is an online project developed using Php and MySQL. The purpose of this project is to
provide the complete information about the vehicles available for a tour. There are 2 different
types of users.
First the customer visits the site and enters the place from where to where he wishes to travel.
He also provides the date as when he would like to travel. Then he sends these details to the
travel and tourism agency. The employee of travel and tourism agency receives the mail and
check which vehicle is available for that day and reverts back to the customer along with the
quotation. If the customer agrees for any one of the quotation, he can reply back along with
agreed quotation. Then the agency will take down all the details of the customer and will send a
confirmation message to the customer. On the day of the tour, the customer first must show the
confirmation message to the driver for clarity and only then he will agree to drive after looking
at the confirmation message.
This software is user friendly and helps in finding the vehicle sooner rather than wandering
manually everywhere to find for vehicles. Before the tour starts, half payment has to be done.
After the customer returns or reaches his final destination, he must pay full amount either
through cash or through cards. After the travelling the customer can come back to the site and
enter his feedback about the travel and tourism agency.

Conclusion
Ration forgery is one of the most difficult challenges faced by the food distribution
department. There may be chances where ration is delivered to the beneficiaries and false
records are noted down, regarding the delivery by commission agent. And there is
probability of him (commission agent) selling the commodities in open market with extra
profit etc. Therefore, the proposed system is more secure and transparent then the normal
existing system. Entry of fallacious data in the ration database can be avoided with the use
of smart cards and additional security is provided by the biometric authentication. The
commission agent is only responsible for entering the quantity of the commodities, whereas
updating and deducting is solely handled by the server (food department). Maintaining the
database is also helpful for sending messages to the beneficiaries about the ration delivery.
It is anticipated that the proposed project will create transparency in public distribution
system as the work becomes automatic and also it makes the system free from irregularities.
The proposed system is more secure and transparent than the normal existing system.
Influence of fraud data entry in the ration database can be maintained simply with the use
of this online smart ration card system. Only authorized person(shopkeeper) can maintain
the database. Customer can be authenticated using card swapping and thumb detection.
In the planned thesis, this paper will try to build a smart ration card with online database
system that will help while sending messages to the customers about ration delivery. It is
expected that the proposed system will be more glassy, reliable than the existing ration
card system.
