What is 3D printing?
3DP or additive manufacturing is a process that creating a physical object from a
three-dimensional digital software, by building successive layers raw material
from digital 3D files, such as, Computer-Aided Design (CAD) drawing or a Magnetic
Resonance Image (MRI) Chuck Hull (1939-Present)

Why 3DP?
Reducing waste and maximise use of raw materials
Saving Energy
Reducing Cost
3DP- Amsterdam
Less manufacturing steps and workflow
More accurate because of digital models

How 3D printing WORKS?
1- Making a digital model often by a computer-aided design (CAD) software
2- Within the software workflow, the users can adjust the printing process to match
their needs regarding segmentation, functionality, and structural complexity.
3- The design is imported into a slicer program to regulate build layers before it is
converted into a file format that can be read by the printer.
4- Post-processing steps: coloring, sanding, sterilization, and polishing.
