    Diabetes mellitus is a chronic disease characterized by high blood sugar levels. When blood sugar levels are too high, excess glucose passes through the kidneys into the urine, causing frequent urination. This frequent urination, especially at night, is known as nocturia or "kencing manis" in Indonesian and can be an early sign of untreated diabetes.
