South African Classification of Road Construction

Materials (refer to TRH 14 and TRH 4)
 In South Africa, granular materials are classified as G1 to G10
depending on quality with G1 being the highest quality and G10
the lowest.
 The measure of quality in this case being the CBR.
 Equally stabilised materials are classified according to strength
characteristics
