• History is the study of past events. It relates to

past events as well as memory, discovery,
collection, organization, presentation, and
interpretation of information about these events.

Nature and scope of history is classified into three eras.
• Pre modern history
• Modern history
• Post modern history
Pre-modern History

Pre-modern history is the history before 19C. It was age

when historians used write about only religion and
politics i.e (Kings, Queens etc.) because of limitations in
knowledge and lack of sources.
Types of pre-modern history

• Pre-history
It is the history before invention of writing. In pre-history,
historians use symbols, images etc. to write history.

• Proto history
It is the time when writing was invented but paper was not
invented.Historians used to write with burnt bones of animals.
