HISTORY Antonio Meucci (April 13, 1808 in
Firenze - October 18, 1889) was an
Italian inventor who developed a kind
of voice communicator in 1857.
Many people believe that Alexander
Graham Bell was the inventor, but
actually is Antonio Meucci.
On June 11, 2002, the US House of
Representatives passed resolution No.
269 on Antonio Meucci, which
recognized that it was Antonio
Meucci who invented the telephone,
not Alexander Graham Bell. In that
year, it was also known that Bell stole
Meucci's invention and claimed it as
Antonio Meucci his own.
