“teachability”
A textbook is considered teachable when it is easy for students and
teachers to follow. As you evaluate the teachability of a textbook,
consider questions such as these:
Does the book contain the right amount of material?
Are the units the right length? Do they divide easily into lessons for
each day?
Is the textbook organized clearly? Is it easy to follow?
Are the units organized clearly? Is it easy for students to locate
each item?
Is it clear what the purpose of each section is, for example,
reading, speaking, vocabulary, or review?

“Level OK”
Level refers to two things, the right language level and material
appropriate for the students' age group. When thinking about the
level of the textbook it is important to consider:
In general, is the text generally at the right level for my
students?
Is it mainly challenging or mainly easy?
Are there possibilities for students needing extra help?
Are there possibilities for more advanced students to keep
working?
Is the text appropriate for the age of my students?
