WHAT IS THE ELEMENTS OF ART?

● Elements of Art are stylistic features that are


included within an art piece to help the artist
communicate.
● The elements are what the artist uses to
create the work ( with or without intent) and
what the critic uses to evaluate the work.

1. ELEMENTS OF VISUAL ARTS
LINE

● Lines is an important
element at the
disposal or every
artist.
● Lines always have
direction
COLOR
● Has the most
aesthetic appeal of all
the elements of visual
arts.
● It is a property of
light.
FORM
● Form is the
element of art that
is three-
dimensional and
has volume (length,
width, and height).
A form can be a
geometric or
organic.
Shape
● Shape is a flat, enclosed area of
an artwork created through lines,
textures, colours, or an area
enclosed by other shapes such as
triangles, circles, and squares.
● Likewise, a form can refer to a
three dimensional composition or
object within a three dimensional
composition.
TEXTURE
● The surface quality or
“feel” of an object, its
smoothness,
roughness, softness,
etc.
● Can be identified by
touch or sight.
VALUE

● Lightness and
darkness of colors.

PITCH

● Pitch is an aspect of a sound that we


can hear, reflecting whether one
musical sound, note or tone is
“higher” or “lower” than another
musical sound, note or tone.
MELODIES
● A melody (also called a “tune”) is a
series of pitches (notes) sounding in
succession (one after the other), often
in rising and falling pattern.
● Melodies also often contain notes
from the chords used in the song.
HARMONY

● Refers to the “vertical” sound of


pitches in music, which means
pitches that are played or sung
together at the same time to
create a chord.
TONE COLOR
● Timbre, sometimes called “color”
or “tone color” is the quality or
sound of a voice or instrument.
● Timbre is what makes a particular
musical sound different from
another, even when they have the
same pitch and loudness.
TEXTURE
● Musical texture is the overall
sound of a piece of music or
song. Determined by how the
the melodic, rhythmic, and
harmonic materials are
combined in a composition.
FORM

● Form describe how the overall


structure or plan of a song or
piece of music, and it
describes the lay out of a
composition as divided into
sections.
3. ELEMENTS OF COMBINED ARTS
● Combined arts is where
different artforms interact and
create something new and
exciting across outdoor arts,
carnival, festivals, spectacle,
interdisciplinary works, live art
and participatory and social
art practice.
● These include, dance, poetry,
theatre, improvised scenes,
music, musical plays, events,
cinema and performances
such as rituals and cultural
events including street
carnivals, fiestas and parades.

WHAT IS PERFORMANCE ART?

● Art that is presented “live” usually


by the artist, sometimes with the
collaborators or performers.
● Focuses upon actions,
audiences and sites-specific
activities done in a particular
location for a particular time.

● Refers to images or
text painted usually into
buildings, typically

progress.
DIGITAL ARTS

● Is an artistic work or
practice that uses
digital technology as
part of the creative or
presentation process.

● (translation and re-creation)


essentially combines the
discipline of translation with the
art of interpretation.

MUSIC TO TEXT TRANSCREATION

● Music as a language on
its own, refers to text
discourse and other art
forms. The context used
in music is also
translated.
TEXT TO DANCE TRANSCREATION

● Is text to dance by using


dialouge or text to influence
and enhanced the dance,
performances.
DANCE TO VISUAL TRANSCREATION

● Besides the early literature,


the visual arts, such as early
sculptures, reliefs, and later
paintings, also give
extremely valuable
information about theatre
and dance.
