INTRODUCTION
• An intelligent, emotional Indian doctor in Chandrapore. Aziz attempts to make friends with Adela
Quested, Mrs. Moore, and Cyril Fielding.
• Later, Adela falsely accuses Aziz of sexually assaulting her after an expedition to the Marabar Caves,
but the charges are dropped after Adela’s withdrawal from the case at the trial.
• Aziz enjoys writing and reciting poetry.
• He has three children; his wife died several years as discussed in the beginning of the novel.
• His response to Mrs. Moore is one of quick affection that remains constant even after her death.
RELATION BETWEEN DR.AZIZ AND
MR. FIELDING

• The relationship between Aziz and Fielding is the most significant.


• In spite of so many barriers of race and character, the two men succeed in creating a unique rapport
that stands out as evidence of the power of goodwill and kindness.
• There is the difficulty of communication due to Aziz’s imperfect handling of the English language.
• Genuine friendship that dissolves the various barriers between them.
• Misunderstandings and complications.

RELATIONSHIP OF DR.AZIZ WITH MRS. MOORE

• First meeting.

• Dr. Aziz has a notably childish quality to his nature, it is this childishness which is
undoubtedly one of the factors that draws Mrs. Moore to him.
