What is a Linear Function


A function is Linear when:
- The graph is Non-Vertical Straight line
- The exponent of Variables is equal 1
- When can be represented by a linear
equation.

Linear equation is any equation that can be written in the STANDARD FORM expressed bellow:

AX + BY = C, A,B,C are real numbers and A, and B are both no equal zero

Other known forms of linear equations are:


. Slope – “y” Intercept form y=mx+b ( m is the slope and b the “y” intercept)
. One Point – Slope form y-y1 = m(x-x1) ( m is the Slope and x1,y1 is one point on the line)
