Defining Recruiting Locations


Recruiting locations are used by job searches to help narrow the location of a
job opening.
- Specify recruiting location for a particular region and assign it to job
openings.
- The job search looks at the recruiting location associated to that job opening
and if a match is found it displays that job opening to the applicant If an
applicant inputs a specific region as search criteria.

Posting Descriptions
A job posting is made up of a series of statements that provide a description of the job

- Explains how to apply for the job opening.

Interview Evaluation ratings define how you rate the applicant within the category and
associate a score to that rating.
PeopleSoft delivers three ratings:
- Excellent - which has a score of 2
- Average - which has a score of 1 and

- Other Ratings may be added as necessary.

Recruiting Templates control the layout of the page and the information that appears on a
page in Talent Acquisition Manager

PeopleSoft Talent Acquisition Manager enables the user to create five different templates
- Resume Template
- Job Opening Template
- Job Posting Templates
- Screening Templates
- Interview Evaluation Templates

After these templates are created they are linked together on a recruitment template, which is
tied to a job opening. During the recruitment process, the system uses the recruitment
template that is tied to the job opening to determine how that job opening is to be processed.

Job opening templates are used to define the number of pages and the sections that
appear on those pages when a user creates a new job opening by using the Create New Job
Opening component.

The layout can be either one long page with all job opening sections or as many as 17
separate pages with one section displaying on page each. Each page can be named
according to the sections that appear on the page

Recruitment templates link all the recruiting templates together. The recruitment template is
linked to a job opening when you create a job opening. That means that when the link to a
recruitment template is made to a job opening, all templates that are assigned to that

External Applicants
External applicants must register online to perform many recruiting-related tasks. To
register online, external applicants must create a user name and password and
confirm the password.

Applicant Contracts
If the organization uses employment contracts, Talent Acquisition Manager can be
used to create applicant contracts and link them to an applicant during the prepare
for hire process. If the employee is hired, this information is copied to the human
resources database.

When you submit the hire request, the system sets the disposition to Ready to Hire
and sends a notification to the HR administrator.

The applicant's name appears in the Manage Hire Results group box on the Manage
Hires page.

Applicant data is transferred to the HR database based on criteria defined on the Data
Transfer to HR (HRS_MNG_HIR_STP) component.
After the applicant is hired, the system:
- Sends a message to the recruiter notifying them the applicant was hired.
- Sets the disposition to Hired.
- Sets the job opening status to Closed if the Available Openings is zero.
- Sets the job opening status is set to Closed.
- Updates the applicant record with the employee ID and the applicant status is set to
Hired, if the type of hire is Hire or Rehire.
- Sets all other dispositions for other job openings for this applicant to Reject.
- Sets the disposition for other applicants linked to this job opening to Reject if the
available openings is zero.
- Uses the Data Transfer to HR component to copy applicant data to the human
resource database.
- Copies the contract information to the human resource database
