This document outlines a two-stage geotechnical investigation process for determining soil parameters to support infrastructure design. The first feasibility stage involves reconnaissance visits and subsoil testing to inform preliminary foundation designs and cost estimates. The second detailed design stage includes additional subsoil testing for structures like flyovers and bridges along new alignments to allow for detailed foundation design, construction planning, and monitoring requirements.

Geotechnical investigation for determining soil parameters to supplement
the design shall be carried out in two stages (i) Feasibility stage: Investigation for feasibility stage includes reconnaissance visits and sub- soil investigations at representative locations for bridges along the existing alignment. Carry out preliminary design of foundations to estimate the cost associated with these structures (ii) Detail Design stage: Investigation for detail design stage includes conduction of sub-soil investigations for flyovers, rail overpass, high embankments, soft soil locations and bridges along the new alignment. Carry out Detail design of foundation of bridges, flyovers, rail-overpasses, embankments and provide appropriate construction sequence and monitoring plan to be carried out during the implementation stage.
