The Teacher and the School

Curriculum
This course includes the fundamental concepts and principles in curriculum
and curriculum development as a foundation to engage prospective
teachers as curriculars. The more active role of the teacher in planning,
implementing and evaluating school-curriculum as well as in managing
school curriculum change and vis-à-vis various context of teaching-learning
and curricular reforms shall be given emphasis.
MODE OF DELIVERY

• This course applies a resource-based approach to teaching and learning. This means that
you learn by exploring the resources—online and offline digital and print resources—that
will be provided in our Google Classroom or in our Facebook Closed Group Page.
• We will have mostly asynchronous format of encounters. In cases when, synchronous
sessions will be conducted, you will be informed, and arrangements will be done so that
everyone will be able to participate.
• Synchronous sessions mean that students and teachers interact at the same time in real
time using a given platform to bridge the distance. We will do this through Google Meet
or Facebook Room.
• Asynchronous sessions mean that students and teachers interact not in real time. This is
usually made possible using certain platforms to bridge the distance. For our asynchronous
interactions, we will use Google Classroom or Facebook Closed Group Page. BUT…
attendance will be strictly monitored every single session according to our class schedule.
• Consultation about the intended topics/tasks will always be during our class schedule.
• Interactions are provided by using chat rooms and comment sections. In these occasions,
your active participation is expected.
