Who do we pay compliments to?

• Who do we pay compliments to?

- To any commissioned officer

- Members of the royal family.

- Prime minister, or any minister the


Queen delegates authority to.

- Formed bodies of troops.

- All standards, and colours of regiments


of the Army and their equivalent counter
parts.
COMPLIMENTS
When do we pay compliments?

• At the National Anthem of The United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland.

• At military funerals to pay respects to the fallen.

• The Cenotaph.

• Standards and colours of the regiment.

• Any Officers walking by, this is to honour the Queens commission, and recognise rank seniority.

• They will salute back to acknowledge and thank you for the compliment.

AIM & PURPOSE OF DRILL
What is Drill?

Foot drill is made up of a series of standard moves that all cadets need to learn for use on
parade, at detachment, on camps and weekends, or any other cadet events.

• Parade in detachment, start of night and the end of the night.

• Annual camps, to move around camp.

• On company weekends.

• Remembrance day.

• Drill events.

What are the aims & purpose of drill?

The Aims of drill?

• To produce a cadet who is both alert and obedient.

• Provides the basis for teamwork.

Purpose of drill?

• It enables a group of cadets to be moved easily and quickly from A to B in an organised


manner.

• It improves posture.

• Develops lungs and muscles.

• It looks smart and uniformed.
