Crocodiles vs Alligators

Alligators and crocodiles are reptiles. Like all reptiles, they have dry, scaly skin and lay eggs.
They are cold-blooded. This means they can’t make heat to keep their bodies warm. They
have to be in a warm place to stay warm. That’s why most alligators and crocodiles live in
hot climates.
These reptiles are good swimmers. They
swim by moving their long, strong tails.
Most kinds of alligators and crocodiles live
near fresh water. A few kinds live near
rivers that flow into the sea. The water is
salty there.
With their eyes and nostrils on top of their
heads, they can see and breathe when their
bodies are in the water.
ALLIGATORS
Alligators live in freshwater rivers
and lakes. Alligators only live in
parts of the United States and
China. They can be dark green,
brown and gray. They have round
snouts that look like U. They have
many teeth. Their side teeth
cannot be seen when an alligator
closes its mouth.
