MY THINKING 
Greeting
• Unpack belongings and sit together on the carpet 
• I will begin by calling on the last student who sat
down to start a count off
• That student will start a count off by starting
with 1, then the student next to them
continues: 2, 3, 4....and on the fifth student
everyone says "RED LIGHT" and the student
proceeds to tell us their name and something
fun their learned or did the day before. Then
the pattern repeats itself two more times to
allow for a total for three students to have
some talking time on the carpet.

start bouncing it back and forth to other students
• Whoever catches the ball when the music stops will
have to answer the question for that day
• The student will then pick 3 different students to ask
and answer questions to one other student

• What are community-building elements of this sharing? • Community-building elements are essential the sharing
section of a morning meeting. Tossing the ball around
gives the students a sense of trust and responsibility and
answering a question infront of the whole class builds a
feeling of unity between the students. 
• The most notable skill the students are learning is public
• What social skills are children practicing?  speaking. It can be very difficult and nerve racking for
some students to speak infront of others, but introducing
this to them at a young age allows for trust and
confidence.
• How is the activity introduced? • To introuce this activity I will let the students know what
is expected of them ahead of time and have them
transition to a standing circle on the carpet. I will then
remind them of their instructions and pass the ball to the
student the greeting ended on and begin the music. 
ISPY Stick Game
• I will have to students sit back down on the carpet and I
will proceed to draw a name from the stick jar
• Whoever's name is drawn will pick an object in the room,
come to me and wisper it
• They will come up with 2 to 4 clues and tell the class 
• The class will have to guess what the object
• Repeat one more time

the rules of this particular activity. I will then explain what
the activity is going to enatil.
