Submit With Style

And Always Smile

Hebrews 13:17
Obey those who rule over you, and be submissive, for they watch out for your
souls, as those who must give account. Let them do so with joy and not with grief,
for that would be unprofitable for you.
John 14:31
but he comes so that the world may learn that I love the Father and do
exactly what my Father has commanded me. "Come now; let us leave.

James 4:7
Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from
you.

Ephesians 5:22
Wives, submit yourselves to your own husbands as you do to the Lord.
Submit with style means to have a good attitude.

“Submit” dictionary meaning:

- Is to yield oneself to the authority or will of another, to surrender.

“Surrendering your way of doing things to the way your leadership

wants things done.”

When speaking of submission, it is important to realize that submission

and agreement are two entirely different thing. You really haven’t
submitted until you disagree. You know you’re truly submitting when it’s
a little hard on your flesh.
• When speaking of submission, it’s important that you know that it’s
never right to submit to something contrary to the Word of God.

• Most problem with submission in local churches usually involve

personality conflicts, personal preferences, and the manner or style in
which things are done.

• In dealing with people, sometimes you just have to go with the flow
and keep your heart right.
The Rewards of Submitting When It’s
Hard
1 Peter 2:18
Servants, be submissive to your masters with all fear, not only to the
good and gentle, but also to the harsh.

• If you look up that “harsh” in the Greek, it actually means

unreasonable tyrant.
Tyrant – a ruler who has unlimited power over other people and uses it
unfairly and cruelly.

1 Samuel 1:9-17
9Then Hannah rose after eating and drinking in Shiloh. Now Eli the priest was sitting on
the seat by the doorpost of the temple of the LORD. 10She, greatly distressed, prayed to
the LORD and wept bitterly. 11She made a vow and said, “O LORD of hosts, if You will
indeed look on the affliction of Your maidservant and remember me, and not forget Your
maidservant, but will give Your maidservant a son, then I will give him to the LORD all the
days of his life, and a razor shall never come on his head.” 12Now it came about, as she
continued praying before the LORD, that Eli was watching her mouth. 13As for Hannah,
she was speaking in her heart, only her lips were moving, but her voice was not heard.
So Eli thought she was drunk. 14Then Eli said to her, “How long will you make yourself
drunk? Put away your wine from you.” 15But Hannah replied, “No, my lord, I am a
woman oppressed in spirit; I have drunk neither wine nor strong drink, but I have poured
out my soul before the LORD. 16“Do not consider your maidservant as a worthless
woman, for I have spoken until now out of my great concern and provocation.” 17Then
Eli answered and said, “Go in peace; and may the God of Israel grant your petition that
you have asked of Him.”

responded with humility.

lifestyle or the lifestyle of his sons, but she respected him.
1 Samuel 2:12
Now the sons of Eli were wicked men; they had no regard for the LORD

had a baby sitting on her lap who ended up bringing deliverance to all
of Israel. His name was Samuel, and he grew to be the priest after Eli.

“When you do what’s right, right things will happen to you.”

Ways We Can Have A Great Submissive
Attitude
1. I will not be offended when I am corrected.

2. When asked to do something I don’t want to do, I will do it with good

attitude.

3. I will not insist upon my own way.

GOD BLESS!
