More than 4.

84 million persons are in housing shortage in


Central American region
In the Central American bloc including Panama, Dominican Republic and Belize,
four out of ten families are hoping to have decent housing and safe for habitation,
the study of the American Council on Housing and Human Settlements (CCVAH).

Thus, a total of 11.3 million households, more than 4.84 million eligible housing
deficit: either because they have no home or because the dwelling does not meet
basic quality conditions.

In the rest of the region, even for the most robust economies. Costa Rica has the highest
deficit in quality, with 91%, while Panama, the highest percentage in number of homes
needed, with 73% of families without according to CCVAH.
