BACKGROUND
SINCE DEPED ORDER NO. 8 S.2015 - POLICY GUIDELINES ON CLASSROOM ASSESSMENT FOR THE K TO 12
BASIC EDUCATION PROGRAM.IN CONNECTION WITH THIS, SCHOOLS ARE ADVISED TO CONDUCT ENHANCE
ACTIVITIES THROUGH INTERVENTION OF THE SAID SUBJECT ON WHICH THE STUDENT CONSISTENTLY
ACHIEVED THE LOW EXPECTATIONS.
THE FOLLOWING ARE THE MPS IN MATHEMATICS FROM 2016- 2019: GRADE 7 HAVE THE MPS OF 49.69,
48.46 AND 51.24; GRADE 8 HAVE THE MPS OF 56. 5, 60.87 AND 57.84; GRADE 9 HAVE THE MPS OF 40. 78, 41.89,
AND 43.7; AND GRADE 10 HAVE THE MPS OF 55.6, 56.67 AND 59.16. BASED ON THE DATA GATHERED, GRADE 9
STUDENTS HAVE THE LOWEST MEAN PERCENTAGE SCORE IN MATHEMATICS AND THEIR MPS IS GRADUALLY
DECREASING SINCE SCHOOL YEAR 2016 AND THE LEAST LEARNED COMPETENCY IS ON THE TRIGONOMETRIC
RATIOS, WHICH MADE THE GROUP DECIDE TO FOCUS ON THE SAID GRADE LEVEL AND THE COMPETENCY.
