WHAT IS SAS?

 SAS is a software suite that can mine, alter, manage, and retrieve
data from a variety of sources and perform statistical analysis on it.
 SAS provides a graphical point-and-click user interface for non-
technical users and more advanced options through the SAS
programming language.
 SAS programs have a DATA step, which retrieves and manipulates
data, usually creating a SAS data set, and a PROC step, which
analyses the data.
 Software suite developed by SAS Institute fo advance
analytics, business intelligence, data management and
predictve analytics.
3 phases of SAS
DATA PREPARATION
SAS Visual Data Builder enables user to prepare data by summarizing, joining and reducing
the data.

DATA EXPLORATION
SAS Visual Analytics Explorer is a drag and drop interface that can be used to expore data by
using interactive visualizations such as charts, histograms and tables.

REPORTING
SAS Visual Analytics Designer which uses for creating reports or dashboards that can saved
and viewed on mutiple formats and devices.
Benefits for an Organization by using SAS
Business Analytics
 Using SAS Analytics you can make consistent data from multiple sources easily
available for your employees.
 Provides business users with self-sufficient access to powerful SAS Analytics
from within Microsoft Office including PowerPoint with an addin.
 Helps satisfy corporate and governmental compliance regulations.
 SAS Visual Analytics helps in analyzing big data of an enterprise and in generating
powerful insights from it in such an easy way that the business users themselves can draw
inference from this whole process, thus, off-loading the IT team of this burden. This tool
enables businesses to identify trends, spot correlation among data, isolate the outliers, realize
the exceptions, unearth the root cause of such variations, and come up with some new ideas and
insights which they were not aware of.
 SAS Visual Data Exploration helps in creating visuals which are appealing and grabs the
interest of the business users who might not have found such data as interesting, otherwise.
This tool analyzes big data and represents them in the form of graphs, charts, and other
compelling visuals, thereby making it easy for the business users to draw information and
inferences out of it. This in turn helps them understand their business thoroughly and take
informed decisions.
 Consistency in data is maintained through the centrally managed data, security, and shared
metadata. The reliability of the outputs is ensured, and the results can be traced back to the data
sources.
 It utilizes in-memory and distributed processing, thereby making the analysis of huge databases
prompt. This tool also helps in predictive data modeling.
 Visual data exploration
 It creates compelling reports, charts, and visuals from the analyzed data for:
 Easy understanding of complex data
 Spotting unprecedented patterns
 Trend analysis
 Exploring new opportunities
 Creating insightful and easy analytics
 Identify correlations
 Spot outliers
 Visualize trends
 Predict future outcomes and trends
 Interactive dashboards and self-service ad-hoc reporting
 Helps create ad-hoc, distribution-quality reports all by oneself
 Reports are simple and can be created by management executives themselves
 Built-in data access, mash-up, filtering and data transformation
What is WPS?

 World Programming System, also known as WPS Analytics or WPS, is

a software product developed by a company called World Programming.
 WPS Analytics supports users of mixed ability to access and process data
and to perform data science tasks. It has interactive visual programming
tools using data workflows, and it has coding tools supporting the use of
the SAS language mixed with Python, R and SQL
 WPS can use programs written in the language of SAS without the need
for translating them into any other language. In this regard WPS is
compatible with the SAS system. WPS has a built-in language interpreter
able to process the language of SAS and produce similar results
 World Programming’s WPS Analytics software is an
enterprise-class data analytics platform for data engineers,
data scientists and business users.
 WPS Analytics capabilities encompass a massive range
including data acquisition, data discovery, data prep, ETL,
predictive modelling, machine learning, visual drag-and-
drop workflows, coding, shared on-demand deployment,
API publishing and analytics governance.
 A built-in compiler combines SAS, Python, R and SQL to
offer a multi-language data programming tool that can run
existing programs as well as develop new ones. The WPS
Analytics compiler can run SAS language programs
