Many different cuts of the film are known to exist. Both the IMDb and the
movie's censor certificate list the film's length as being 6989.50 metres
(255 minutes). According to the Chicago Reader, the original running time
was 5 hours. The international DVD release from Yash Raj Films Home
Entertainment runs for 233 minutes (224 with the disc's PAL speed-up),
while the Indian DVD by Shemaroo Entertainment is heavily cut at 184
minutes. It is the first Hindi movie to have two intervals.
Six years in the making, the movie reportedly inspired by X's own life and
his character in the movie is an allegory of his own life as an actor.
X invested much of his own personal fortune on the movie, but it flopped
at the box office.

X and movie?
3.#
This phrase originated in the US film industry. The precept as it applies to films is as prevalent
now as it was in the silent film days. Many, in fact it is not too strong to say most, films aimed at a
young male audience involve plot devices that allow for action sequences which invariably end in
hot pursuits. There is usually a token love interest storyline before everything in sight ends up in
pieces.
The first reference to it dates back to that era, just after the first 'talkie' - The Jazz Singer, 1927. It
is a script direction from Joseph Patrick McEvoy's novel Hollywood Girl, 1929:
"Jannings escapes... _______________.“

There's quite a distance from a single citation in a script direction to a phrase that is part of the
language. It doesn't appear again in print for some years and we can be fairly sure that McEvoy
wasn't the source of the figurative use of the phrase as we now know it. The Winnipeg Free Press,
March 1944 ran an article about screen writing that included this:
Miss [Helen] Deutsch has another motto, which had to do with the writing of cinematic drama. It
also is on the wall where she cant miss seeing it, and it says: "When in doubt, ____________.“

Phrase?
 Cut to the chase.

The symbol of X ,known as the Y –shield is believed to be the first letter of X’s
alter-ego. However over the course of time many alternative origins have been
provided:

It was not a Y, but rather X's Y-shaped family crest representing the House of

El. The Y-shield is the  symbol for "hope" and X believes it may have begun as a
family crest for the House of El. Later, it was confirmed that it indeed is a
family crest, as well as a symbol for hope.

The symbol is instantly recognizable and you can see it utilized in

advertisements for pretty much anything you can think of when someone
wants to emphasize what they're doing is at the apex of its ilk, to the extreme,
of the highest degree, the greatest ever.

Which symbol?
The S-Shield (Kryptonian symbol for hope)

At Sita's command, Lakshmana makes a pyre for her and Sita mounts it.
The moment Sita has offered herself as supreme oblation to Agni, Rama
too rushes after her, and enters the blazing flames, much to the shock of
all earthly spectators. In a moment, however, Rama comes out of the
fire holding Sita's palm in his right hand, and the spectators get a
glimpse of their divinity.

This proclaimed the great principle of the supremacy of the law, and the
equality of all before the law, not excepting the law-giver himself. The
'Agni-pravesha' which is actually intended to reveal to all the world the
truth of Sita's chastity, it is also shows Rama's fidelity and love for Sita.

always talks to him by yelling at him, which results in awkward
long-distance conversations with him yelling back at her. She

relive, like that whole ____ thing. I love Chris [McMillan, her

time because he started that damn _____, which was not my
best look. How do I say this? I think it was the ugliest haircut

The band initially took the name Mookie Blaylock, in reference to the then-
active All-Star basketball player. However, concerns about trademark issues
necessitated a name change; the band's name became XY. However they
settled on naming their debut album on Mookie Blaylock’s jersey number.

In an early promotional interview, _____ said that the name was a reference to

his great-grandmother X, who was married to a Native American and had a
special recipe for peyote-laced Y. In a 2006 Rolling Stone cover story
however, ____ admitted that this story was "total bullshit", even though he
indeed had a great-grandma named X. In 2006 guitarist Mike McCready said
that bass player Jeff Ament came up with X. They decided on Y after attending
a concert by Neil Young, in which he extended his songs as improvisations of
15–20 minutes in length.

Which band?

The name X was often used as a
derogatory slang by American and Iraqi soldiers and their allies in the War in
Iraq to describe individuals suspected of a variety of offenses related to
theft and looting. British soldiers routinely used the term to refer to Iraqi
civilians.  In the subsequent occupation it is used as a general term for the
insurgents, similar to Charlie for the Viet Cong in the Vietnam War.
Due to interaction of the two peoples, the term X was adopted by the Iraqis
to describe foreign troops suspected of looting, and the English-speaking
mainstream press mistakenly reported the slang to be native to the locals.
Iraqi citizens often use the term X to describe looting bandits, whether they
be coalition troops or insurgents of any nationality. For protection against X,
Iraqis are allowed one AK-47, and one 30 round magazine of ammunition
per household.

X is described by the artist as an anti-drug-song.

"It’s no good to write a deliberate anti-drug song and hope that it will
catch. Because the general thing is that people will be upset by that.
It would disturb them to have someone else shoving something
down their throat. So the best thing to do is offer something that
seems ambiguous—that on study or on reflection actually can be
seen to be ‘anti’—which the song X is actually an anti-drug song. If
you study it or look at it with a little bit of thought... from a
distance... or as it goes by... it just sounds like a song about X. But
actually, it is quite cleverly anti-X”
