He distilled his own beliefs about building cars with the now famous phrase “The
quality remains long after the price is forgotten”.
This practice continued for all Rolls-Royce models until the production was
suspended in 1939, at the start of World War 2.
BMW purchased Rolls-Royce motors on 1st January 2003 from Volkswagen A.G.
Today Rolls-Royce benefits from the enormous research and development capability
of big-name owners but regardless of who owns, the great named Rolls-Royce motor
cars continued to fascinate the public and are still widely regarded to be the most
respected luxury car of all time. Approximately 65% of all Rolls-Royce motorcars
ever built are still on the road today.
