 Protective Apparel (Sect 15)
1. Pursuant to section 24, Act 139
2. Must worn by every employee required
to PASS or WORK WITHIN AREAS

work or services in a worksite shall

 Scaffolds (Part 10)
1. Every part of scaffold must be of good
construction, suitable material and
adequate strength
2. Timber scaffold must be keruing wood or
wood of equal or higher strength
(#wooden scaffold spec in sect 72 (4) &
(5))
3. Metal scaffold must be suitable quality,
good condition and free from corrosion or
defect
4. Should properly maintain (sect 73)

5. Scaffold must be erected or
dismantled under direct supervision
of a designated person

 Working Platforms (Sect 86-90)
1. Platform which a person is liable to fall
more than 3 metres
a. Closely boarded, planked and plated
b. At least 635mm wide if it is not used for the
deposit of any materials
c. At least 860mm wide if it used for the
deposit of material
d. At least 1.1 m wide if the platform is used
to support any higher platform

is required in certain conditions
4. Platform should be free from any
obstruction, material, rubbish or

ordinary foot-wear is not suitable,

1. Any person involved in handling sharp,
abrasive objects, corrosive substances,
hot metals or toxic substances should
be provided with suitable gloves
2. Don’t wear gloves for works like
drilling, punch pressing or machinery
which hand may be caught in moving
parts

 First Aid (Sect 38)
1. Injured person must received first aid
treatment and further medical attention
2. As per sect 25 (1) (c) of Act 139, first aid
box/ cupboard must be:
1. Equip in accordance with the 4th schedule
2. Clearly mark red crescent/ cross on white
background
3. Kept lock and kept by a responsible person
during working hours
4. Responsible person must be trained,
available during working hours and a notice
with his/her name on should be affixed in
prominent places

 Working Clothes (Sect 32)
1. As in section 24 of Act 139 regarding
personal protective clothing and
appliances
2. Good fit, no loose flap or strings, loose
aprons, torn or ragged garments and
neckties
3. No key chain or watch chain worn near
moving machines and safeguard your
hair

4. Activities exposed to toxic dust
must not wear clothing that have
pockets or cuffs that might collect
dust
