Modal Auxiliary is a group of auxiliaries words which are
part of the auxiliary, which gives additional meaning to a
sentence.
In Oxford dictionary mentioned that modals is a verb used
with another verb, like can, may, should. So it can be
concluded to modal auxiliaries verbs, is an auxiliary verb
that gave the additional meaning in main verb.
In indonesian language

 In general, modal auxiliary was devided into
two form, namely modals in the present form
and modals in the past form.

THE RULES FOR USING AUXILIARY VERB
1. The verbs should not be added with –s / es if there is an auxiliary
Example :
• He can makes a fruit cake (wrong)
• He can make a fruit cake (right)
2. Between the auxiliary words and verbs can’t be associated with “to”
Example :
• They can to take their computer (wrong)
• They can take their computer (right)
3. If the modal auxiliary in the past form, the verb must be used the first form of the
verb (infinitive)
Example :
• They could sang at the classroom (wrong)
• They could sing at the calssroom (right)
4. For the question sentence (interrogative sentence) is formed by put the modal
auxiliary infront of the sentence
